Built upon the site of a former working southern rice plantation on Pawley's Island, Caledonia has been recognized for its design and incredible beauty. The Roman name for Scotland, Caledonia was designed by Mike Strantz with the specific intent of maintaining as much as the natural preserve as possible. Caledonia was named "Top 100 America's Greatest Public Courses" by Golf Digest 2005-2006.
